Explanation on the Cuba visa

Are you going on a holiday to Cuba in 2022 or 2023? Then you need a visa. This applies to all inhabitants of the European Union, and to people from the United Kingdom. Even underage children must each possess their own Cuba visa. If it concerns a tourist trip, the application can be submitted entirely online, through the digital application form on this website.

What is the Cuba visa? The Cuba visa is a paper card, which consists of two parts. On both the left and the right part you fill in your nationality, primary first name, last name, date of birth and passport number. After arrival in Cuba, one part is torn off and taken. When leaving the country, the other part needs to be handed over. That is why you should remember to keep the visa with your passport in your hand luggage during your trip. Do not stick it in the passport, but keep it separately.

You are not required to report at the Cuban embassy
By submitting your application online, you save yourself a round trip to the Cuban embassy. The online application procedure also allows you to apply for a visa for someone else. When acquiring a visa through the embassy, you pay a surcharge of £25 per person. If you make use of the online form on this website, you will avoid this surcharge.

Validity duration and requirements

The visa for Cuba is valid for 30 days. The validity term starts from the moment of arrival. It therefore does not matter when you arrive in Cuba. The only restriction is that the passport that was used during the online application must be valid for at least seven more months from the moment of arrival in Cuba. If so desired, on arrival the visa can be extended by 30 extra days at an office of the immigration service, making it so you can stay in Cuba for a total of 60 days.

Requirements of the Cuba tourist visa:

  1. On arrival, the passport must be valid for at least seven more months
  2. No work may be performed in Cuba with the tourist visa
  3. Minors also need their own visa

Submit your application online and receive the Cuba visa by mail. The visa is sent to you by mail within four working days. The shipping costs are included in the visa price. After receiving it, you can easily fill in the visa card yourself. When filling it in, make sure that you proceed with care and write down the passport number without errors. As the Cuba visa does not mention an arrival date, it can be applied for well before departure.

The cost of the visa is £39.95 per person. This is a total price, so it includes the consular costs, application costs, shipping costs, VAT and transaction costs. You can pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or PayPal.

Are you arriving in Cuba by cruise ship, or are you flying to Cuba from the United States of America? Then you need a special pink visa (the normal visa is green). The requirements and validity duration of the pink and green visa for Cuba are exactly the same, but you pay a surcharge of £58.00 per person for the pink visa. This can be paid for at the same time as the basic costs through the online payment module.

Urgent procedure. Are you travelling to Cuba in the near future? Urgent applications that are submitted and paid for on working days before 12:00 are processed the same day and sent by mail. An urgent application can be submitted through the normal online application form. Check the option “urgent delivery” in the form for this. For urgent deliveries, a surcharge of £10.00 per person applies.
